The Dropped H Project
Tuesday, 8 January 2013
These pictures were sent in from Rob Luckins who runs screen printing courses at Bager Press which i love and go to as often as I can. He writes that his idea of where they go is as follows "Everytime you utter a word without so much as a care, the missing letters fall into drawers and wait alone in despair. Until the day comes they are finally used by bookmakers looking for The's, they are stamped into boooks and put at the front, the place they so righty deserve." These are his pictures. I would like to say a big thank you. More to come next week.

This is from a girl I met on a screen printing weekend at Bager Press. I would like to really thank her, her name is Joanna Dawson (AKA & other stuff). She says she got the idea from listening to a song by Patrick Wolf with the line "Magpie was it you who stole the wedding" Her sketch book was amazing and a joy to look at. Thanks again Joanna.

Well, I have so much to tell and show. Some of you may not know but there is a postcard of the dropped H project as well. I have given this to friends and really any-one else that stayed still long enough. These have been coming back with some brilliant ideas of the whereabouts of these letters. Also to let those of you that do not know, that is that I have dyslexia, so if grammar and spelling is not quite right that is the reason. I hope it also helps to see the reason of this project. Sarah wrote that she thinks the go in the compost heap with all her teaspoons. there was a great sketch of compost heap full of letters and T spoons.
Another card suggests the "H"s have all gone to Newfoundland where the Newfoundlanders put an h in front of their vowels.
One person said there must be a lazy house somewhere for all those unused letters. Several have suggested that they are with all the odd socks that get lost in the washing machine.
One girl i know wrote "I cannot lose what I never had. I've never owned H's or T's, like my Mum and her Mum before her. It's the northern way."
One that nearly made me cry came through the post with no name said "They fly away on the wings of birds to a place where they are loves and used by children who struggle to be educated"
Next time I have some from a great friend who had seven ideas and great pictures. thank so much please keep up the good work, I can see a Quilt coming from these ideas..
